How it works

Build Your Knowledge Library

Use tags when bookmarking

Tags are like keywords or labels that you add to content to make it easier to find later. They are one-word descriptors that you can assign to your bookmarks to help you organize and remember them. Tagging can be a lot easier and more flexible than fitting your information into preconceived categories or folders. When bookmarking a webpage, the interface has a field for Tags. In this field, enter as many tags as you would like, each separated by a space.

Use Tags to:
  • Organize your bookmarks
  • Filter content
  • To follow new content
  • Search for content
  • Search for user activities

Tag Clouds

From the Tags menu you can find the community’s most popular tags, all tags that you’ve used and tags you follow. Tags are shown as tag clouds. A tag cloud is a visual depiction of user-generated tags. In a tag cloud tags are single words and are listed alphabetically, and the importance of each tag is shown with font size. The more a tag is used in posts, the larger the word for that tag will appear.

On schooX you have different roles according to what you do. You can, for example, discover and bookmark new content acting in this way as a Discoverer, or collect content discovered from other users. In the latter you act as a content Collector. In the same way, when you attend a course you are a Learner, when you teach you are an Instructor and when you review a bookmark you act as a Reviewer. You can filter your tag cloud and find your content related activity for any of these roles.

Filter content with tags

You can filter content by any tag or tag combination by just typing one or more words in the tag field on the main bar of the Library.

Search for tag related content in:
  • Your library
  • The community’s library
  • A member’s public library

Following tags

By following a tag new content bookmarked with this tag appears on your Feeds page. Click on the right part of a tag (+/-) to follow or to not follow it. You can find tags you follow from your Tags menu.
